Organ Dedicated At Marshallberg Church A special dedication service was held in the Marshallberg Metho dist Church on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. The service was held to dedicate an organ, which was the gift of Dr. L. The meeting was held at 7 p.m. in the Ann Street Methodist Educational building with dinner prepared by ladies of the Ruth circle. Mr. Taylor, who is chairman of the Christmas Sc.-1 drive irt this county, gave the sta tistics for the tuberculosis drive in this section and told how the pur chase of these seals will aid in our Lown county. During the business meeting plans were' begun for Christmas decorations and a discussion of the symphony took place. It w.'S announced that the club had donated $25 to the local Scout hut end $25 to aid in the work of the cemetery restoration commit'e?. A bazaar was planned for De cember 4, to be held in the Mctho (list Educational building begin ning at !) o'clock in I ho morning. Cakes, pies, candies, and gifts for Christmas will be on sale at this time. Also, a call meeting of the club is set for Monday. Nov. 15, in the Educational building. Two new members were welcom ed into the club: Mrs. .lames Wal lace and Mrs. Charles Markey. Stewards Meet With J. 0. Barbour, Sr. The Board of Stewards of the Ann Street Methodist Church met Tuesday evening at the home of J. 0. C Miss J. Johnson Honored . At Party In Washington Miss Joyce Johnson, bride-elect of November 13, was honored at a bridge party given Friday by Miss es Lee Bonher and Elsie Wall,, oi Washington, N. C. During the 1 progressions of bridge at three tables cokes and mints were served and at the con clusion of play a chicken salad with sandwiches, pickles, olives, potatoe chips, pickled pears and coffee was served. Prizes were given for high score and second high. Miss Johnson was given silver candlesticks' and a knife in her chosen pattern by the hostesses. Woman's Auxiliary Holds Meetings Monday Section A of the Woman's Auxi liary of St. Paul's Episcopal church met with Mrs. George Gamble on Monday afternoon. Devotionals were read by Mrs. J. M. Morrill. Mrs. George Eastman announced a gift of a chair for the sanctuary presented by Mrs. C. R. Davant. Mrs. Morrill led the program and she, along with Mrs. C. G. Holland and Mrs. W. L. Martin, gave a report on the convocational meet ing in Wilmington. A social hour followed. Section B met at the parish house Monday evening at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Cecil Brooks read the de votionals. Members of the auxiliary arc making plans to give a turkey sunner in the parish house on Nov. 12, to raise money for gen eral expenses of the auxiliary. Mrs. C. G. Holland and Mrs. W. L. I Martin then gave a report on the I convocation meeting after which ! refreshments were served. ! Dill of Norfolk, Va., in an informal ceremony Thursday afternoon, October 28, in the Core Creek Community church. The Reverend W. Y. Stewart of ficiated. Mrs. Grayden Paul, organist, and Mrs. John Hardison, soloist, ren dered a program of wedding music. , The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Charlie G. Bell ot Harlowe, wore a gray gabardine suit and pink blouse with blacK accessories and a white orchid corsage. Mrs. Charles Young, of Jackson ville, sister of the bride, was her only attendant. She wore a brown suit and white blouse with brown accessories and a purple orchid corsage. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Warren G. Harrison, of Ports mouth, Va., as best man. Ushers were Mr. Lester W. Dickinson and Mr. Jack Gardner. The bride's mother wore a black crepe dress with black accessories and a corsage of red roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a lavender dress with gray acces sories and a corsage of pink roses. The church was beautifully de corated with pine, palmettas, ivy and large white chrysanthemums. After the double ring ceremony was performed by candlelight, the couple left for a short trip and will return to their home in Portsmouth, Va. Business Club To Meet Tuesday In Beaufort The Carteret County Business and Professional Women's Club will meet Tuesday. Nov. 9, in the Methodist Kducalional building, of Beaufort.
