Snakes generally will swallow artificial porcelain eggs as fast as genuine ones; and since they can not digest the artificial variety, this often proves fatal to the snake. msmuy turn OTTto AHUM Junior Woman's Bazaar to Open , Homemade cakes, pies, cookies and candy as well as various types of handiwork will be on sale at the Ann Street Methodist church annex tomorrow morning at 0 a.m. when the Junior Woman's club opens its annual Christmas bazaar. The bazaar from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. is being held to raise funds for the various projects which the Junior Woman's Club has under taken for the year. Mrs. G. W.. Woolard and Mrs. David Jones are co-chairmen of the affair and assisting them are Mrs. Clarence Guthrie, Mrs. David Beveridge, Mrs. Charles Cheek. Mrs. Edna Heslep, Mrs. J. O. Bar bour, Jr.. Mrs. Oliver Davis, Mrs. Frank King, Mrs. Edward Arring ton. Among the projects which the club has undertaker, this year are assisting the Cemetery Restoration committee, contributing to the Scout building and helping with the town Christmas decorations. Mrs. Helen Hatsell, president of the club, is a member of the town committee to put up the decora tions. Stork Shower Given For Mrs. Brooks Liles Mrs. Brooks Liles was honored at a surprise stork shower given Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Hubert Fodrie or avcn Street with Mrs. W. E. Adair. Mrs. Fodrie and Miss Ester B. Fodrie as hostesses. Bridge was played at two tables with Mrs. Pearl McQunid and Mrs. Charles Markey winning table prizes. Several games of bridge bingo were played with prizes go ing to the winners. Refreshments of hot chocolnte with nuts and cookies were served from the dining room table which was covered with a lace cloth and a centerpiece of roses and narcissi flanked by glowing white tnpers. Roses and narcissi were used else where in the home also. Mrs. Liles received many lovely gifts from her friends. Cause of death was attributed to a heart attack. Funeral services will be held at ) o'clock this afternoon from the home. Captain Willis was the son of the late Jorden Willis and Jutsan Styron Willis of Davis, and had made his home in Morehead City for many years. He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Lula Willis, two sons, Earl Willis of Norfolk, Va.; Don F. Willis of the home; and three daughters; Mrs. Johnnie Occhslie, Mrs. Theo dore Wertheim, of New Rochelle, N. Y., and Mrs. Bud Mayo, of Morehead City. I Mrs. Josie Carter Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Josie Hearn Carter, 63, wife of I. H. Carter, Harkcrs Island, who died Saturday morning at Morehead City hospital. Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late E. It. Ileum. Delaware, and the late Annie Debinder Hearn, of Philadelphia, Pa. Howling, a former pastor of the church, now of Greensboro. The body was taken Monday morning to River View church, Rescue. Va., where Mr. and Mrs. Hearn lived prior to com ing to Harkers Island 10 months ago. Services were conducted in the Rescue Methodist church cemetery Monday afternoon by Mr. Burris, assisted by the pastor there, and interment was in the family plot in the cemetery.
