COMMERCIAL FISHERIES
REGULATIONS
The violation of which consti
tutes a mesdemeanor. Published
in compliance with Chapter 113,
Section 136 of the General Statutes
of North Carolina.
The following regulations were
adopted at the January 1951 meet
ing of the Board of Conservation
and Development, the said Board
being vested with regulatory pow
ers by Chapter 113, Sections 135
and 136 of the General Statutes of
North Carolina;
1. Regulation No. 16, amended
as follows;
In line eight (8) strike out
the word "marketed" and in
sert in lieu thereof the word
"possessed," and in line ten
(10) strike out the word "con"
and insert in lieu thereof the
word "coon."
2. Regulation No. 109, Section
II. amended by adding the
following;
The Commissioner ol Com
mercial Fisheries or his rep
resentative shall designate a
convenient spot where shells
shall be deposited. Any fail
ure to deposit the shells in
the spot so designated for
that purpose shall constitute
justification for revocation of
license.
3. Regulation No. 109, Section
V. amended by adding the fol
lowing;
Beginning January 1, 1951,
the oyster license fees from
dredgers and packers shall be
collected on the basis of the
calendar year as provided by
statute.
4. Regulation No. 109, Section
VI, amended to read as fol
lows:
No power boat may have more
than one dredge which shall
be of a weight not in excess
of one hundred (100) pounds.
Each sail boat may have not
more than two dredges per
boat which may or may not be
in excess of a weight of one
hundred (100) pounds each.

Willie Fulford, sr., was arrested
Wednesday for disturbing the
peace, charged with making him
self a public nuisance by using
loud, vulgar language. He is now
on $50 bond pending bearing Mon
day.
Mrs. I. N. Moore was involved
in an $300 to $500 accident Tues
day at 5:20 p.m. when, in attempt
ing to turn the corner at Ann and
Orange st. she ran into a tree.
Possessing a learner's permit. Mrs.
Moore, it was reported by Officer
G. K. Springle, swung too sharply
to the right, attempted to apply
the brakes, but instead hit the
accelerator.
Two passengers in the sedan, her
daughter, Mrs. Charles Jarman,
and grandchild, Constance Moore,
were considerably shaken up. In
addition. 10-year-old Constance re
ceived a badly lacerated lip which
required numerous stitches. Mrs.
Moore was unharmed.
