Ministers Meet Monday At Webb Civic Center The Rev. R. N. Fitts, pastor of Marshaliberg Methodist church, presided at the monthly meeting of the Carteret County Ministerial association Monday at the Webb civic center, Morehead City. Mr. Fitts, who is vice-president of the organization, also conducted the devotional. Routine business was discussed. Following the meeting, the pro gram committee, the Rev. T. R. Jenkins, pastor of Ann Street Methodist church, Beaufort; the Rev. W. L. Martin, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, Beaufort; and the Rev. A. L. Reynolds, pas tor of Franklin Memorial Metho dist church. Morehead City, ar ranged programs for the coming months. The president, the Rev. Priestly Conyers, pastor of Webb Memorial Presbyterian church, was not pres ent. First Methodist Pastor Announces Services The Rev. L. A. Tilley pastor of First Methodist church. Morehead City, announced the following ser ? vices for the coming week: The Board of Christian Educa tion will meet at 7:30 tonight in the choir room of the church. A class of boys and girls will be received into the church at 2:30 Sunday. Anyone wishing to unite with the church on profession of faith or by transfer should speak to the pastor at that time. Holy Week services will be held Monday through Friday of next week from 8:15 to 8:30 a.m. All are invited to attend. The services will begin promptly at 8:15. The sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be observed at 7:30 Thursday night. The public is in vited. The traditional Good Friday ser vice. noon to 3 p.m. next Friday, will consist of special music and prayers. Minister:) of the town will speak on the "Seven Last Words of Jesus." The Rev. T. R. Jenkins, pastor of Ann Street Methodist church, ai the 11 o'clock service Sunday morning, Palm Sunday. There will be special music, chris tening of infants, and reception of new members. At the 7:30 p.m. Sunday service, the pastor will speak on "Jesus or Barrabas." ^ During Holy Week there will be 'lS-minute morning services each day, beginning at 8:15 a.m. At 7:30 Thursday night there will be Holy Communion. Sunday services on Easter will consist of a sunrise service, a church school Easter program at 9:45 a.m., an 11 o'clock service at which the pastor will speak on "Easter Is the Voice of Life." At the evening service his topic will be "The Burning Heart." Filipinos Leave Village Near Smoldering Volcano Cagayan, Mindanao Island Phil ippines (AP) ? A village where 2,000 Filipinos lived little more than five months ago has been completely abandoned on Camiguin Island since the eruption last Sep tember of Hibok Hibok valcano. The village of Agoho, on the slopes of the still smoking volcano, has been entirely evacuated. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mcintosh visited his father at Marshallberg Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Daniels visit ed relatives at Atlantic and Cedar Island this weekend. Mrs. Bertram Daniels who spent the past few weeks with her par ents at Boston, Mass., returned home Friday. Miss Marie Hunnings spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Daniels at New Bern. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jordan arriv ed the past week to spend some time here with Mr. and Mrs. Luth er Pittman. Mr. and Mrs. James Bishop and baby daughter arrived last week. Mrs. Bishop, the former Alta Dick inson, will spend some time here with her parents while her hus band is working in New York.
