Mrs. Johnson reported that the lown recreation commission will provide three months of rccreation during the summer, with Charles Hester as director. Mrs. Johnson gave a most inter esting discussion on The Problem of Aging. In 19(H), she said, one! could expect to live until he was 47 in the United States; today it is 67 for boys and 69 for girls. In the year 2000, it is estimated if the birth rate continues the same, there will be more old people than young. This is true because of better food, medicine, and physical care, she explained. "Ten per cent of these older people have enough to live on, our problem is to pro vide work or activities for these older people as a means of secur ity. as well as to provide interests and recreation to keep them from being lonely," remarked the speak er. Mrs. Johnson concluded by giv ing suggestions for keeping a youthful spirit. The hostebses, Mrs. Luther Ham ilton and Mrs. A. H. McDonald served an iced drink and assorted cakes in the Easter motif. Use plentiful honey for family menls. It's delicious spread on hot buttered toast for breakfast. FRIENDLY HEADQUARTERS For Yonr Children's "growing" Neods! Today it's bandages and antiseptics. When you reflect on the varied nature of the prescriptions your pharmacist is equipped to fill ? and all the times you have depended on his services ? you realize how essential he is to your family's health. And when you consider the timesaving convenience the drug store offers, no wonder today's busy parents rely on it for so many of their "growing" needs!
