Wade spent Friday in Goldsboro. Ralph WaSe left yesterday for an extended trip. He will spend about a week in Chicago on busi ness arid then go on to Stambaugh, Michigan, where he will join his wife and daughter, who are visiting there. Mrs. Eugene Roeloefs and sons, Gary and Terry, are accompanying Mr. Ralph Wade as far as Indiana, where they will remain for a visit. Dr. and Mrs. R. D. In a ceremony at five o'clock Friday afternoon, July 27, Miss Barbara Ann Grantham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Prank Albert Grantham of Morehead City, be came the bride of Floyd Walter Stewart, son of Mrs. Alice Stewart of Beaufort. The Rev. Lester A. Tilley, pastor, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. Baskets of white gladioli and fern, flanked by seven-branched candelabra, stood on either side of the altar. A program of wedding music was presented by Miss Therese Weal ton, organist, and Miss Marilou Paulsen, soloist. M fes Paulsen's se lections were O Promise Me and I Love Thee. The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. She wore an ankle length dress of white chantilly lace over taffeta, fashioned with a fitted basque jacket with back peplum and long sleeves ending in points over the hands. The full skirt was scal loped at the hemline. She wore n shoulder length veil of imported illusion and carried a colonial nose gay of white carnations centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Arthur K. Lewis, the ma tron of honor, wore an off-shoulder ballerina length gown of white frosted organdy over taffeta, with bouffant skirt. She wore a ruffled bandeau of the same material and short white nylon gloves, and car ried an old-fashioned nosegay of American beauty astors and brlstol, with matching ribbon. Miss Clara Pelletier, of Stella, who was a bridesmaid, wore a white organdy gown identical to that of the honor attendant and carried an identical bouquet. James Vernon Blades, jr.. of New Bern, was best man, and ushers were Floyd Jones and James Lu cas, both of Morehead City. Mrs. Grantham chose for her daughter'.! wedding a dress of sheer black crepe, with which she wore velvet accessories and tl corsage of red roses. Mrs. Stewart-, mother of the groom, wore a dress of navy blue crepe with match accessories. Her corsage was red roses. After a brief wedding trip, the young couple will be at home in Long Branch, New Jersey. Mrs. Stewart is a graduate of the Morehead City high school, and at the time of her marriage was em ployed by the Carolina Telephone and Telegraph company. Mr. Stewart is a graduate of the New Bern high school, and is now with the United States Army at Fort Monmouth. New Jersey. Johnny McBride, Jimmy Ma durea, and Lynette McBride, child ren of Mr and Mrs. H. W. McBride, left Saturday for a two weeks' vaca tion in Salisbury with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cabel Mc Bride. They were accompanied to Salisbury by Mr. and Mrs. Jake Barger, who had returned from a vacation at Carolina Beach and were enroute to their home. Twenty guests enjoyed various games, including bridge, canasta, bingo, and rook. Bridge prizes were awarded to Mrs. Earl Freeman, high scorer, and Mrs. Sadie How land, second high. Miss Anne Dar den Webb won high score prize for canasta. Mrs. John H. Bunn, high (or bingo, and Mrs. Raymond Dav is. low for bingo Decorations of white gladioli wire used in the club room. The hostesses, assisted by little Ruth Webb Bailey, served mints, salted nuts, and soft drinks dur ing play, and ice cream, block cake, and bridal mints at the con clusion of play. Miss Webb wore a corsage, t)ie gift of her hostesses, who also re membered her with a gift of china. Mrs. Beck Enieriains Club, Guests at Ocean King Hotel Six tables of bridge were in play Thursday afternoon, when Mrs. Warren Beck entertained her bridge club at the Ocean King hot el. Guest high prize was won by Mrs. H. C. Barrow, second high by Mrs. Ruth McRackan, and low by Mrs. Bob Howard. Club high was Mrs. Kenneth Wagner, while club sec ond high was Mrs. S. A. Chalk, jr., Mrs. Lonnie Dill was consoled with low score prize. The hostess served a dessert course of canteloupe a la mode. Soft drinks and salted nuts were served during play. Bride's Parents Entertain After Wedding Behearsal Immediately following the Stew art-Grantham wedding rehearsal Thursday .night, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Grantham, parents of the bride, entertained at a cake cut ting at the Webb Memorial civic center. The bridal couple cut the first slice from the three-tiered wed ding cake, after which Mrs. Adam Mayer'and Mrs. R. W. Wallace, jr., served the cake. Serving punch were Mrs. Neil Windley, sister ot the groom, and Mrs. A. H. McDon ald. Salted nuts and bridal mints were also served. Mrs. Bob Williams presided at the 'bride's book. One hundred guests were pres ent for the occasion. Cooper Hamilton, who is station ed with the Army in San Antonio, Texas, will arrive tomorrow at the Raleigh-Durham airport, where he will be met by his father, Harvey Hamilton.
