William Blades Parkin arrived home from Jacksonville, Fla., Christmas day for a visit with his mother. Kelley of Madison. Wis., on Wednesday, Dec. 19, in St. Egbert's Catholic church, Morehead City. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her brother, Everette Lewis Golden, wore a gray suit with black velvet accessories and a cor sage of red roses. Miss Marguerite Lewis, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a black velvet suit and a cor sage ol yellow roses. Cpl. Edward Hoyt of South Da kota and Cherry Point was best man for Mr. Kelley. Mrs. Golden wore a dress of hunter green with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations for her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Kelley, mother of the groom, wore beige with brown accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Following the wedding ceremony the newly-married couple left on a wedding trip to his home in Wis consin. Upon their return Mrs. Kelley will continue to work at Lloyd A. Fry Roofing plant, Morehead City, where she had been employed for the past two years. Cpl. Kelley is stationed at Cherry Point with the Marine Corps. OBITUARIES (1IAR1.ES r. manson Charles R. Manson. 68, died at his hime at 903 Ann st., Beaufort, Sunday morning. Funaial services were held Mon day afternoon at 2 o'clock in Ann Street Methodist church, with the Rev. T. R. Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Ocean View ceme tery. Mr. Manson was an honorary life member of the fire department. Pallbearers were* honorary and ac tive members of the Beaufort fire department. Surviving Mr. Manson are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Jones Manson, a daughter, Mrs. William R. Eads of Carlsbad, N. M , a son, Charles Davis "Manson *of Beaufort, a brother, Russell G. Manson of Beaufort, a sister, Mrs. Burt Hel len of Vanceboro and two grand daughters. HENRY THOMAS CLARK Henry Thomas Clark, 79, died Monday evening at the home of his son, Henry Joseph Clark, 116 Noyes ave., Morehead City. Mr. Clark, who had moved here with his wife two months ago, was originally from Clay City, Ky. Funeral services wei;e held at Clay City. United States Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hill of Beaufort, were married yesterday, Dec. 27, at 5 o'clock in the after noon in the Memorial Chapel at Mountain Home. Chaplain Harry T. Wright per formed the double ring ceremony before in altar banked with white chrysanthemums and white gladioli against a background of ferns and evergreen. Prior to the wedding ceremony Mrs. D. G. Stout, organist, gave a program of nuptial music and Miss Anita Roddey, soloist, sang () Promise Me, I Love Thee and the Lord's Prayer. j The bride, who was given in mar I riage by her father, wore a white duchess satin gown with -fitted bodice and cathedral train. The yoke, sleeves and overskirt of the gown were of rose point lace. Her finger tip veil of illusion was edged in rose point lace and fell from a juliet cap of rose point lace with fresh gardenias on either side of the cap. She carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias and stepha notis centered with an orchid. Miss Carolyn Morton Neale, sis ter of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore an ankle length dress of frosted tulle with satin bodice and sash and a red headdress and matching shoes. She carried an arm bouquet of red carnations vvith red streamers. Bridesmaids were Miss Sheila Anne Gray of Boston, Mass., and Miss Mary Elizabeth Price of Rich mond, Va. Birthday Party Honors Annie Louise Willis Mrs. Sid Willis entertained at a party Friday evening at the Scout building to honor her daughter, Annie Louise, who was celebrating her 17th birthday. A Christmas tree and Christmas decorations carried out the holiday motif. Following the reception the new lv-married couple left on a wed ding trip through the south. The bride attended Westhampton college of the University of Rich mond in Virginia. The groom is a graduate of Mars Hill Junior college and of the Uni versity of North Carolina and at present is attending Officers Candi date school at Fort Riley, Kansas.
