He was a graduate of 1952 from Ocracoke high school. Mrs. Ellis Midgette and child of Philadelphia are visiting Mr. and Mrs. John Midgette. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Garrish and Mooford Garrish made a business trip recently to Norfolk, returning with a new truck lor the firm of Garrish & O'Neal. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Rond thaler enjoyed a three-day trip to Washington, N. C., via the freight boat, Bessie Virginia. They spent a delightful afternoon and evening at Swan Quarter, supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. W. Shelton, and had the opportunity also of visit ing friends in Washington on v Thursday. Togo Wynn and nieces of Wash ington spent the past week at Ocra coke, staying with Mr. and Mrs. Ansley O'Neal. Mrs. Needham Simpson has re turned home from the Morehead City hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Scar borough have as summer visitors, their sons, Mr. Alton Scarborough and family of Delaware, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas Scar borough of New Orleans. Lafayette Howard and son from H addon Heights, Maryland, visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Howard. Tom Nelson of Beaufort spent the weekend here at the T. W. Howard home. Everett Parsons of Philadelphia had a ten days' holiday here, com ing via Hatteras on his motorcycle. Friends here have enjoyed riding with him. both on the hard-surface roads and on the ocean beach. Ro man pottery dating back to the first century was recently dug up near here by laborers laying the foun dation of a new house. Other finds include a rotary corn-grinding stone, a quartzite pounding stone and several iron-age pieces dating from 100 to 50 B. C. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dave S. Williams. Mrs. Glynn Weeks and son of Daytona Beach, Fla., are spending some time at her home here. District Court judge that he "couldn't be a fair Juror because I've got too many troubles of my own to listen to someone else's troubles." Judge Willis W. Ritter fined him $50 for contempt of court.
