The eantonal government of Geneva has derided to grant former Swiss com munist boss Leon Nicole. 65, a temporary pension of $140 per 'month out of funds reserved for relief of the poor. The pension is larger than the average worker's wage in Geneva and is meeting with criticism. Nicole was president of the can ton from 1033 to 1936. Since then he has lost the support both of ihe voters and of his own party. To day's cantonal government does not include a single communist or com munist-sympathizer.
