Suzanne Land Circle Meets at Lewis Home The Suzanne Land Circle of the Franklin Memorial Methodist Church met Dec. 21 it the home of Mrs. Walter Lewis on Arendell street. Co-hostesses were Mr*. Roma Styron,. Mrs. Carl Lewis Jr., Mrs. Joe Beam and Mrs. O. J. Mor row. After exchanging gifts, a buffet supper was served by the hostesses. The home was decorated with Christmas decorations and a light ed tree. Mrs. Lewis read The Christmas Story and Mrs. Styron gave a talk on Christmas customs in various foreign countries. Engagement Announced Mrs. Herbert Whitmore Thornton announces the engagement of her daughter, Elizabeth Webb, to Mr. Nelson Taylor Lewis Jr., son of Mrs. Nellie Hancock Lewis of this city and Mr. Lewis of Beaufort. The wedding will take place March 4. Book and Bridge Club Meets at Nelson Home The Book and Bridge Club met Tuesday night at the home of Mrs. George Nelson on Shepard street. Guest was Mrs. Carl Garner. Mrs. Gordon Laughton won high score prize, Mrs. Fred Lewis was second high and Mrs. Charles Stanley Jr. was low. Mrs. Garner was presented a guest prize. Mrs. Nelson served salad, nuts and coffee after progressions. The club will meet next with Mrs. Fran cis Wade on Jan. 12. Allen Conner Celebrates Birthday Wednesday Mrs. A. S. Conner Jr entertained 10 guests Wednesday afternoon to honor her son, Allen III, on his sixth birthday, at their home on Shepard street.
