(AP) ? Merrimac Folic Chief Maurice Gray figured in a 50-mile relay to notify North Andover police that their high school was on fire. Carey observed the fire while passing through this community ? 25 miles from his own territory. He relayed the information by ra dio phone to his desk officer in Merrimac.
