Douglas of the Department of Conservation and Development. Douglas said development engin eers from the C&D Department's Commerce and Industry Division will attend each of the workshops to help local groups with their planning for new industries. Those interested in forming workshop groups in each county are urged to write the Director, Department of Conservation and Development, Raleigh, N. C.. Director Douglas said the Depart ment of Conservation and Devel opment is planning to give local communities more assistance in the future in their industry-seeking ef forts than it has been able to give in the past. "We want these development .workshops to be real cooperative efforts on the part of local com munities and the Department of Conservation and Development in the efforts being made to bring more industrial payrolls into North Carolina and thus help raise the per capita income of North Caro linians," Douglas said. In the stepped-up efforts to bring more industries into the State, Douglas said the Department of Conservation has added new per sonnel to its commerce and indus try division.
