LEGAL NOTICES COMMERCIAL FISHERIES REGULATIONS The following regulations were Adopted at the January 18-19, 1934, meeting of the Board of Conaerva tion and Development, under and in accordance with the regulatory powers vested by Chapter 113, Sec tions 1S5 and 136 of the General Statutes of North Carolina in aaid Board. These regulations have been filed with the Secretary of State of North Carolina, certified copies dispatched by registered mail to the Clerks of the Superior Court of the twenty-one counties having commercial fishing waters and ad vertised once a week for four weeks as provided by law. Any violation of these regula tions under the provisions of law constitutes a misdemeanor. AMENDED REGULATION Fish-Food "Regulation No. 84 ? NEW REGULATION Oysters "Regulation No. 16: It shall be unlawful to take or catch oysters in Deep Cove commonly known as Shell Bay." AMENDED REGULATION General "Regulation No. 5 ? (173) Section IX: It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or cor poration to ship or offer to ship oysters, clams, shrimp, escallops or crabs without a bill of consign ment and tax receipts from the shipper written or stamped in ink or indelible pencil, showing the date of shipment, quantity of each product shipped, and to whom consigned. It shall be unlawful for any express company, rail road company, or any other com mon carrier to accept for ship ment, or to transport on the pub lic highways any shrimp, escal lops, clams, oysters or crabs with out the bill of consignment and tax receipts from the shipper showing the tax' has been paid, EXCEPT THAT IN THE CASE OF A SHIPMENT OF 5 PACK AGES OR LESS OF ANY OF THE ABOVE COMMODITIES, TAGS MAY BE USED." NEW REGULATION Fish-Food "Regulation No. 115: No net stakes or fixed nets shall be placed in any inlet of the State nor shall any gear designed to hinder the free passage of fish or to entrap them be placed in these inlets. No fixed nets, traps or gear of any description designed to capture fish shall be placed at any portion of the intra-coastal waterway as It passes through the State. The middle third of all sounds and rivers in the commer cial waters of the State shall be kept free of all Beta, traps or fish ing gear designed to entrap fish or hinder their movement." Holt, manager of the Hare head City port, Mid Tuesday that need {or more warehouse apace at the port waa brought home laat week when he had to turn down a 2,000-ton cargo of dried milk. An additional 400,000 square feet of storage space, approximately two and a quarter times more than .hat now available would be most desirable, commented Mr. Holt. The space is there, all that's need ed are the buildings. The port manager also said that the port of Morehead City could handle raw sugar destined for Win ston-Salem if there were more warehouses. At present practical y all warehouse space is occupied by fertilizer. Authority to proceed with build ing of additional facilities at the State ports rests with the State Ports Authority. Their decisions on expenditure of money are then passed upon by the governor and council of state.
