trip to Boston and New York.
Mr. and Mrs. David Beveridge
visited Mrs. Beveridge's father, Mr.
Mayo, in the Marine Hospital at
Tanner's Creek Sunday.
Mrs. Oil io Garrish left Saturday
for her home at Ocracoke. She
was accompanied by her niece. Bob
bie Jean Rush, who will visit with
her.
Gordon Davis, a member of the
freshman class at Wake Forest,
spent the weekend at home.

baby daughter, who had been visit
ing her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Parkin, left last week for
Blackwell, Okla., to spend the sum
mer there.
Miss Frances Lee Taylor, a stu
dent at Louisburg College, is home
for her spring vacation.

To Beaufort Book Club
Robert Lee Humber spoke of the
art museum which will be opened
in Raleigh in the fall when he ad
dressed the Beaufort Book Club
Thursday evening.

held at Inlet Inn.
During the business session Mrs.
I. N Moore reported on the Help
t he Home project of the club and
announced that she has a list of
all members of the club and the
pieces of furniture they are ready
to give if called upon.

Mr. Lowe, father of Mrs. B. E.
Tarkmgton, Beaufort, died Monday
mornihg at the Veterans' Hospital,
Fayetteville, after a long illness.

Funeral services for Clarence
Bhoodgood Jr., 49, who died at the
Onslow County Hospital, Jackson
ville, Sunday night were held at
the home at Swansboro at 4 o'clock
yesterday afternoon. Burial was in
Ward Cemetery, Swansboro. The
Rev. Atkinson and the Rev. John
son officiated.
Surviving are his mother and a
sister, Mrs. Clifton Watson, both of
Swansboro.
MRS. THOMAS WADE
Mrs. Adelaide Willis Wade, 71,
died Friday night at Morehead City
Hospital after a week's illness.
Funeral services were -held at
the home, 1000 Arendell St., More
head City, at 3 o'clock Saturday
afternoon, with the R^y. Dr. John
H. Bunn officiating. BUrial was in
Bay View cemetery.
Mrs. Wade, wife of the late
Thomas Wade, is survived by three
sons, Ralph Thomas, Norman Theo
dore and Borden Field, all oi More
head City; two sisters. Mrs. George
Nelson, Miss Effie Willis, both of
Morehead City; and four grandchil
dren. She was the daughter of the
late William Jordon Willis' and
Hasseltine Judson Willis of More
head City.
Honorary pallbearers were David
B. Webb. Matt Nelson, John T.
Willis and R. T. Willis. Active pall
bearers were Dave Battle Webb,
BUI Ebron, Jesse Staton. David

The bride, who was given i* mar
riage by her father, wore a gown of
chantilly lace with fitted bodice,
high neckline and long sleeves ter
minating in calla points over the
wrists, and the white satin skirt
fell into a short train. Her finger
tip veil of illusion fell from a bon
net shaped cap. She carried a
white prayer book topped with an
orchid and showered with white
hyacinths.
Mrs. George Worthlngton. sister
of the bride, was her only atten
dant She wore a yellow net dr?s
over taffeta with tight bodice and
bouffant skirt, and a bandeau of
shirred net in her hair. She car
ried a bouquet of yellow rtirysan
themums, roses and iris.
Billy T. Sprlngle was best man
for his brother and ushers were
