day, April 3, at 4 o'clock in the
afternoon in the First Methodist
Church, Henderson.
TV Rev. Allen P. Bran ley, pastor
of the church, performed the
double ring ceremony before an al
tar decorated with white gladiolas,
snapdragons, carnations and sweet
peas, and ferns. White candles in
Silver and wrought iron candela
brum gave the only illumination.
Prior to the wedding ceremony.
Miss Charlotte Mixon, neice of the
bride, played nuptial music on the
organ.
The bride, who was given in mar
riage by her foster-brother, Donald
E. Nierling of Williston. wore a
light grey suit with white linen
collar and cuffs, and white ac
cessories. She wore a white straw
hat and carried a white prayer
book topped with a purple throated
orchid and showered with stepha
notis.
Miss Allen Claywcll of Richmond
was maid of honor and the bride's
only attendant. She wore a prin
cess style dress of pink shaded Into
deep lavender, and carried a bou
quet of deep lavender sweet peas
centered with a pink carnation

groom. was best man, and ushers
were Robert Glen (Jaskill. of Sea
Level, brother of the bridegroom,
and Ralph Gaskill of Atlantic,
cousin of the bridegroom
Immediately following the wed
ding ceremony, a receptjwri was giv
en at the home of Mrs. 6 H. Mixon
sister of the bride, of Henderson.
Mrs. Etta D. Thorson, mother of
the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
Gaskill, parents of the bridegroom,
and the bridal couple formed the
receiving line.
Mrs. Thorson wore a teal blue
taffeta dress with black accessories
and a corsage of pink roses for her
daughter's wedding. Mrs. Gaskill
wore a navy blue dress with match
ing accessories and a corsage of
yellow roses.
Following a wedding trip to the
south, the newly - married couple
will make their home in Atlanta.
The bride is the daughter of
Mrs. Etta D. Thorson of Hender
son and the late Dr. H. A. Thor
son of Elizabeth City. She is a
graduate of Louisburg Junior Col
lege and of the University of North
Carolina, Chapel Hill. At the time
of her marriage she was head of
home furnishings advertising with
the HnMC?., in Washington, D, C.
Mr. Gaskill, son of Mr and Mrs.
Eiilene 'Gaskill ot Sea Level, Is a
graduate of the University of North
Carolina, Chapel Hill, and is now
an audtior with the general ac
counting office of the Federal
Government in Atlanta.

MRS. STELLA CHADWICK
Mrs. Stella Chadwick, 79, wife of
the late Fred Chadwick, died Sat
urday afternoon at her home at
Straits.
Funeral services were held at 4
o'clock Sunday afternoon at the
Straits Methodist Church, with the
Rev. D. M. Tyson officiating. Bur
ial was in the church cemetery.
Surviving art four daughters,
Mrs. Robert Post of San Diego. Cal.,
Mrs. Norwood Roberts, Oriental,
Mrs Odell Mason. Straits, Mrs. Mar
vin Dudley, Beaufort RFD; two
sons, frank and Aubrey, both of

Wells, 43, who died at her home at
Otway Saturday morning were held
at the home of her mother at 2:30
Monday afternoon, with Elder W.

in the Piner Cemetery.

daughter, Mary Lou. all of the
home; her mother. Mrs. Marion

Pete Forbes of Morehead City; two
sisters, Mrs. Adam Bennett of New
Bern. Mrs. Ken Dickinson of Core
Creek; two brothers, Wilbur and
Charlie Rice, both of New Bern;
and a number of grandchildren.

David Adrian Moore, 70, died at
his home in Morehead City Thurs
day afternoon.
Funeral services were held. at the
Farmvilie Funeral Home Saturday
afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev
E. S. Coates officiating. Burial
was in the family cemetery near
Lizzie.
Mr. Moore was a native of Pitt
County. In 1940 he moved to
Morehead City and married the for
mer Rachel Woodward.
Surviving are his wife, four
daughters. Mary Lou. Helen, Ruth
and Alice Faye Moore, all of the
home; a daughter, Mrs. Claude
Harrell of Wintervillle, by a for
mer marriage; and eight sons, Les
lie, Arthur, Clarence. James, Har
vey, Kirby and Carlton, all of
Farmvilie, Bernice of Philadelphia;
two sisters, Mrs.* Minnie Tyson,
Faimville, Mrs. Lucy Arph, Roa
noke Rapids; three brothers. Rob
