Richard Yeager, twin brothers
from Morehead City, who have had
parallel military careers, recently
added another point of similarity
when Richard, following in his
brother's footsteps, graduated from
the 82nd Airborne Division's Basic
Airborne School.
The brothers, both members of
the 325th AIR's Headquarters and
Headquarters Company, enlisted in
the Army in March 1951 and after
basic training served for a short
while with the 449th Field Obser
vation Battalion at Fort Bragg.
They soon left for separate units in
Korea, Robert to the 1st Field Ob
servation Battalion and Richard
to the 7th Infantry Division.
In September 1953, Robert re
turned to Fort Bragg assigned to
the 325th Airborne Infantry Regi
ment and attended the first class of
the Division Jump School. Approx
imately a year later Richard joined
his brother in Headquarters and
Headquarters Company and attend
ed Class No. 13 of the Airborne
School.

for hours over a sale in a flower
shop, but couldn't break it open.
Before departing, however, they
reached into a flower refrigerator
and took some corsages and boxes
in which to put them.
Their decision to take flowers,
cost the shop $347. The owner
explained: "For years I've kept
office supplies in the safe and
money in a corsage box in the re
frigerator."
