Six Officials of Carteret Attend Meeting at Raleigh Six officials from Carteret Couo ty attended the governor's confer ence on hurricane relief ye?Wrdaj afternoon in the; Hall of Represent atives. Raleigh. They were Mayor George Dill More head City; Mayor A. B Cooper. Atlantic Beach; Dan Wal ker, Beaufort town clerk; Gray Haa aell Beaufort town engineer, lrvin W Davia, chairman of the County Red Croat dhapter, and J a met D Potter, county auditor. The conference was called by Governor Luther Hodges to discuss ways of obtaining further aid for counties and towns damaged by the Oct. IS hurricane. In addition to county and town representatives, others invited to the conference were North Carfr lina's congressmen and senators, the Council of State, the Hurricane Disaster Committee, Director Ben Douglas of the State Department of Conservation and Development. Dr. Ellen Winston, state commis sioner of public welfare; K.T. Lat timore of the Wilmington disaster headquarters of the American Red Cross; A. E. Rozar of the Farmers Home Administration, Raleigh; and Clarence Moore of the Small Busi nesa Administration, Richmond, Four Wills Filed At Courthouse Four wills, +ecently probated, have been filed in the office of the clerk of court at the courthouse, Beaufort. Marcella Williams. Kent County, Rhode Island, named as heir her grandson. Robert A. Williams of Morehead City. The will, drawn Oct 28. 1949, was witnessed t>y Alfred E. Bell and Annie Bell Smith of Kent County. Kathleen Kelly. Philadelphia, was named executrix. The will au thorized the paying of debts and funeral expense* with the rest of the estate to go to the grandson. In the will of Alfred M. Chad wick, drawn Jan. 7, 1939. Aubrey Chadwick was named executor. The deceased directed that he bc givcn a decent burial and his debts be paid. To his wife he willed all his ? real and personal property and di rected that if the homeplace. farm and equipment arc still intact at the death of his wife, they should be given to his two sons, Frank and Aubrey. To his daughter, Edith M**?" two acres of land were given The remainder of his property he di rected to be divided equally among his other children. The will was witnessed by James D. Potter and Eva Bravaldo. Walter M. Davis, in his will drawn Feb. 8. 1946, named his brother, Dclton Davis executor. Delton was also willed all of the deceased's property, both real and oersonal. The will was witnessed bj Charles R. Has*ll and J. Ray Hassell. ( The will of Calupt Tilden Jarvis, drawn Sept. 12. 1952, named Zclma Talbert executrix. ' The will was witnessed by Erma Jarvis Hansen and D. A. Jarvis. Mr. Jarviss wife, Mary Evans, was willed all his real and personal property and Woodmen of the World Insurance policy. To his daughter. Celo, Mr. Jarvis left his gold medal, and letter accompany TB Christmas Seals Go Out Horace Loftin, Beaufort, Heads 1954 Campaign In County The 1954 TB Christmas seals have been mailed, Mrs. W. I. Loftin, secretary of the Carteret County Tuberculosis Association, announced this week. Horace Loftin, Beaufort, has ac cepted chairmanship of the cam paign. Mr. Lot tin is president of the Beaufort Jaycees. The seals this year are of differ ent design, alternating in red and green background. Nativity Dramatization Set for Dec. 21 -24 The Carteret Community Thea tre will present its nativity scene Dec. 21, 22, 23 and 24 outdoors at the Recreation Center, Morchcad City. One group of persons will por tray the roles each night. Miss Joyce. Willis, director, said the scenes willow repeated several times nightly, starting at 7:30.
