Miss Barbara Harris, a member of the freshman class at East Car olina Collage, was called hum* Thursday by the death of her grandfather. Mrs. Leslie Lewis left Thursday for New Vork to be with Mr. Lewis who is in the Marine Hospital in Staten Island, receiving treatment for injuries sustained in a fall. Mr. and Mrs. James Bynum of Stanstonsburg spent Sunday with the Rev. and Mrs. J. D. Young. Mr. Christopher Jones and Mr. Albert Chappell spent Sunday at Chapel Hill with Mrs. Lutie Jones Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jones left Sunday for Chapel Hill to be with Mrs. Lutie Jones who underwent an operation at Memorial Hospital yesterday. # Mrs. Harry Paul and young son left Saturday for their home in Baltimore after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Laughton. Louis Noe left Thursday for Long Beach, Calif., where he is sta tioned with the Navy. Miss Mildred Jones left Thursday for Chapel Hill to be with her mother, Mrs. Lutie Jones. Mrs. Roma Noe and Mrs. Roy Clark spent the weekend in Wal stonburg with Mrs. Noe's sister. Mrs. James Moon of Weedowie, Ala., arrived Saturday. Anna Lou Laughton, Jimmy Fodrie Married in Double Ring Ceremony The marriage of Miss Anna Lou Laughton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Roberts Laughton of Beaufort, to Mr. James Edward Fodrie Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fodrie of Beaufort, was solemnized Sunday, Nov. 28, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon in the First Baptist Church, Beaufort. . Paul, organist, and Mrs. Charles Ha&tell, pianist, gave a pro gram of nuptial music and Billy Laughton of Morehead City, cousin of the bride, sang Because and Through the Years. As the bene diction he sang The Lord's Prayer. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, wore a gown of candlelight bridal satin. The bodice top was fashioned with an Eliza bethan collar and deep yoke of imported french rosepoint lace. The gathered skirt fell into a full flow ing train. Her floor length veil of silk french illusion fell from a rose point lace crown which was em broidered with seed pearls. She carried a prayer book topped with I a white orchid. Miss Shelba Jane Laughton. sis ter of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Harry A. Paul of Baltimore, sistel* of the bride, was matron of honor. They wore floor length gowns of American Beauty velveteen fashioned on bouffant style, and carried white satin muffs with American Beauty roses pinned tlieift. Mrs. Hubert Musselwhite of Greenville, sister of the bride groom, and Miss Anise Kelly of Mount Olive, college roommate of the bride, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns identical to tile honor attendants'. Bonnie Joy Willis was flower girl. She wore a dress similar to the honor attendants' and carried a white satin basket filled with rose petals. Hubert Musselwhite was best man for his brother-in-law. and ushers were Milton Laughton. George laughton Jr.. brothers of the bride, Bert Brooks and Frank Langdale. Following a wedding trip, the couple returned to Beaufort be fore leaving for Seattle, Wash., where the bridegroom is stationed with the Army. Saturday evening following the wedding rehearsal. Mr. and Mrs. Laughton entertained at a cake cut ting at the recreation room of the church. Guests were greeted it the door by Mrs. Earl Taylor and ushered to the receiving line composed of the bridal couple and their parents. Miss Jan Davis was in charge of the bride's book. Mrs. George Laughton Jr. served the punch and Mrs. Milton laughton served the cake. Mrs. Laughton wore a peacock blue velvet dress with matching ac cessories and a corsage of yellow rosea for her daughter's wedding. The Rev. W. T. Roberson, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with fern and pine. Baskets of gladiolas stood at the altar and white tapers in seven branched candelabra gave the illumination. Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. G. M. Paul, organist, gave a program of nuptial music and Mrs. Josiah Bailey of Morehead City, soloist, sang O Promise Me, Becausc, and as the benediction, The Lord's Prayer. The bride, who was given hi marriage by her father, wore a gown of white slipper sation with scalloped neckline, fitted bodice and long sleeves terminating in calla points over the wrists. Her fingertip veil of french illusion fell from a tiara of orange blos soms. She carried a white "Bible topped with a purple orchid. Mrs. William Congleton, sister I of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a floor length gown of crimson taffeta with off-shouider lines and an overskirt of nylon net. She carried a contour bouquet of white carnations. Mrs. George Laughton Jr. of Beaufort and Mrs. Jack Boy kin, roommate of the bride's at Atlan tic Christian College, were brides maids. They wore gowns similar to the honor attendants in green taf feta and carried contour bouquets of red carnations. L. G. Dunn of Morehead City was best man for Mr. Finer and ushers were J. C. Wolfe.
