ing. The members of the class will
furnish flowers for the mission ser
vices every Sunday. A Blue Bird
of Happines Club was formed.
Members are required to attend

Erickson, chief nurse, Naval Hos
pital, Camp Lejeune, the North
Carolina Nurses Association, Dis
trict 21, met Tuesday, March 8, at
the Officers Club, Camp Lejeune.
Mrs. Anne Gause, Goldsboro. was
the guest speaker for the dinner
meeting.
Mrs. Gause told of the changes
in the income tax law as it refers
to working, married nurses with
?mall children. Mrs. Dorothy Ipock,
Beaufort, president, presided at the
business meeting.

Francis Swanson, Gordon Willis,
Kinneth Pittman, Billy Laughton,
Earl Wade, J. L. Seamon, and Bill
Murrill.
Jimmy Willis will play the piano
for both gfoups. The majorettes
to attend are Olivia Wade, Virginia
Morris, Terry Lowe, Helen Carlton,
Novella Reid, '"an Ingram, and
Mildred Whealton.
The Morehead girl's Hi-Y have
unanimously voted to have open
membership to the club. This was
decided at the meeting Thursday.
All girls from the sophomore
grade on, interested in joining the
club, may attend classes. The class
es are to be directed by the club
officers and will be held after
school today, tomorrow and Thurs
day.
At these meetings the girls are
to be instructed in the principles
of the club. They will learn the
standards required . for admittance
into the club.
After the completion of a three
day course there will be a written
test. If a girl passes, she is con
sidered by the girl's Hi-Y advisory
board. The preference will go to
seniors and juniors. The new mem
bers will be welcomed into the
club at the meeting Thursday
night
Patsy Holt, a sophomore home
economics student, won the county
prize in the 4-H club essay con
test. Her essay was titled, "A
Public Relation Program For Agri
culture." She was awarded a medal
and a monetary award.
Patsy attended the 4-H Club dis
trict contest held at Greenville
Wednesday, March 9.

Jerry T. Willis will represent
the Morehead Future Teachers at
the state convention to be held at
Asheville.
Miss Joyce Taylor, of the First
Baptist Church of Morehead City,
spoke to the high school students
at morning devotions, Monday,
March 7. Her topic was "Love." It
was a very inspirational talk.
Polly Guthrie gave a very in
teresting talk in morning devotions
Wednesday. All the efforts of the
boys and girls Hi-Y to have suc
cessful morning devotions would
be rewarded If the school auditori
um were filled. All students are
asked to attend.
The Rev. J. D. Young, pastor,
Ann Street Methodist Church,
Beaufort, will speak Tuesday to the
boys' Hi-Y on a topic of interest
to teen-agers.
