Hardy Willis, 67, died Sunday night at his home at Davit. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'cloc k this afternoon in the Free Will Baptist Church, Davis, with the Rev R. H. Jackson, pastor, of ficiating. Burial will be in Murphy Cemetery. The body will lie in state in the church from 10:30 until 2 o'clock. Mr. Willis, a veteran of World War I, is survived by Ms wife Mary; three daughters, Mrs. Leon tine Morris, Alexandria, Va., Mrs Edith Dempsey, Washington, D. C? Mrs. Elizabeth Dudley, Davis; a stepson, Everette W. Wilson, Wash ington, D. C.; a brother, I. W. Willis of Wilmington; four sisters. In the well known play, "Show boat," Mr. Small, a freshman at the University of North Carolina, sang Ole Man River and was greet t ed every night with thunderous applause. The musical was presented re cently at Chapel Hill. The perfor mance of March 6 was seen by Miss Madeline Royal, Mrs. Tressa Vickers, Mrs. William Murrill and son. Bill, and Bob Rich, all of Morehead City.
