Larry Howard Speaks on Safety l*rry Howard, son of Moaes Ho ! ward, chairman of the Rotary saf ety committee, spoke on the school lafety patrol at the Monday night meeting of t!.e Newport Rotary Club at the Newport Community Building Larry stated that there hasn't been a motor vehicle accident at the school since the safety patrol was started in 1949. He comment ed that adults should set a good example for the youngsters so that they will cross at the crosswalks instead of in the middle of the ?treet. Larry graduated from Newport Hign school last spring and was :aptain of the safety patrol his senior year. He was enrolled in the troop when it was first or ganized and was the only member >f the charter group who stayed with it until graduation. He was lieutenant in 1953-54 and was pro moted to captain last year. The talk he gave at the Rotary Club meeting will appear in Tues day's NEWS TIMES. Rotary President Edgar Hibbs an nounced that there would be no meeting on Monday night, Sept. 5, Labor Day. Guests at the meeting included Morehead City Rotarians H. L. Joslyn and Tom D.
