Eagles Score 100-37 Victory Over Devi I pups T uesday Night The unbeaten Morehead City Ragle* rolled ap their high* score of the season Tuesday night at the home court, tram pling Camp Lejeune 100-37. The preliminary contest saw the EagleUes victorious by a 5W7 score. Coach Gannon Talbert used his first stringers in the contest until they had answered" the crowd '? pleiu to score 100 point*, and then with about 23 seconds left to play, be threw in the subs. Two of the regulars, J. W. Long and Llewellyn Phillips, fouled out of the contest, and their replace ments also shared in the scoring spree. Bob Salisbury, I.ejeune high scorer with 12 points, also fouled out of the game. The Eagles had a 25 5 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended the advantage to 53-14 at halftime. At the end of three quarters they were ahead 75-25. Cheek Scores 31 Wayne Cheek paced the scoring for the winners with 31 point* and did a wonderful job in controlling the boards for the winners. Others to hit in double figures were Craig Home 24, J. W. l.ong 14, and Kent Brown and Bradley Mcin tosh 12 each. The game brought forth some of the scoring punch that the Kagles lacked last year ? Home sank some beautiful set shots and soloed in for many buckets on the fast break. Kent Brown played a fine game for the Ragles and hit in double figures. Willis Hurts Head Raymond Earl Willis hanged his head when he fell to the court in a scramble for the ball and was taken out of the game. He was reported in good condition follow ing the game by Coach Talbert. The preliminary contest also saw the Kaglettes in control through out as they held a 16-10 lead at the end of the firat quarter. At halftime the score was 34-20 and at the end of three quarters had been extended to 48-33. Insertion of substitutes into the Eaglettes lineup cut down the final margin to 5547.
