The e two New Bern debaters that came here were John Riley Ross and p Albert Salem Jr. p The subject of debate was "That d governmental subsidies should be e granted according to need to high C school graduates who qualify for o additional training." J Although New Bern won both debates our freshmen debaters showed up mighty fine against New Bern's senior debating club. This debate was a great exper ience and we bet that before long our debating club will be one of the best in this section of the state. Last Monday the seniors were very fortunate to have Mr. Edward F. Gray, who lives in New Bern, to discuss with us the many problems of social security. A movie was also shown on just how social security works. We ap preciate so much Mr. Gray's visit and hope that he will be able to visit our school more often.
