Army Recruiter Speaks to Pupils Army recruiting sergeant. Bill Haynes. spoke to the students of Beaufort High School during a spe cial assembly arranged by B. K Tarkington. principal, recently. The topic of Sergeant Haynes' talk was "Preparation Through Ed ucation." stressing the necessity of students remaining in school and receiving the highest degree of ed ducation possible. , The necessity pi higher-educated personnel in all walks of life was stressed. Due to the rapid advance ment in industry and aiso military developmeot, more and higher ed ucated people are needed, he said. Sergeant Ifaynes told of the op portunities available to graduating students in tjie U. S. Army where they could receive further educa tion and training experience. This uas directed to those who are un able to see the opportunity of go ing to college and furthering their education there. Stay in School, has been the by-word of the Army for the past few years when they realized that educated personnel uere needejd as a nucleus or back bone for the finest and best train ed Army {n the world. Sergent Haynes stated "We have the equip ment, you have to furnish the brains, train it to reward you in the future.1* Sergeant Haynes is making a tour of the high schools in this area at this time to familiarize the graduating students of the oppor tunities available in the Army gnd urging the other students to com plete their education to the high est standards possible.
