Top clamp and beam shelf is con structed of two pieees of 2 x 6-inch Southern pine and one piece of 4 x 4-inch oak. Planking is of 2-inch fir, fastened with 3 'i -inch galvanized boat nails. The nail holes are bored and plugged Planking is caulked with caulking cotton from keel to cap 4 x 8 inch Southern pine spaced 12 rail and the inside of the waist also is caulked. Deck beams are molded from inches center to center and bolted through the 4x4 oak beam shelf with one >4 -inch galvanized car riage bolt on each side. Decking is constructed of 2x4 Southern pine. The deck is caulked with caulking cotton and paved with Jef feries marine glue. Engine stringers are constructed of two pieces of 4 x 10-inch South ern pine, installed from the for ward bulkhead of the engine room through the fish hold to the end of the shaft alley. The stringers are bolted through frames and floor timbers with Si-inch galvan ized carriage bolts in each frame. Engine room floor beams are constructed of 2 x 4-inch Southern pine, fastened to each side of the boat's framing with No. 20 gal vanized round nails. Straits MYF Elects New Officers at Monday Meeting Presbyterians Plan New Campaign for Spring Officers of the First Presby terian Church, Morehead City, au thorized the start of a new build ing fund campaign in the spring of 1857. The building funds was started in January 1054 with $1,728 and grew to $101,612. To date, $96,481 has been invested in buildings and property. The fellowship hall, the first completed unit in the build ing program, was consecrated in July. The church stands 21st in per capita giving among North Caro lina Presbyterians with $151.62 per member in 1955. 55-Foot Trawler, June T, Launched at Williston The SS-foot fishing Irawler, June T., was launched last Friday at the Williston Boat Works. The trawler, owned by Mrs. Walter Teich, Adams Creek, is now being out fitted at Machine and Supply Co., Beaufort. Captain of the trawler will be Paul Davis, of Davis. Captain Davis has shrimped off Florida, Texas, and Campeche, Mexico. The new trawler is named for Mr. and Mrs. Teich's daughter, June. | ? ' ii i , .. ? The MYF and interested friends will attend a weiner roast and watermelon cutting Monday night at the ferry dock. Plans for the affair were made at this week's meeting. Miss Chasteen was selected as delegate to the annual MYF con ference at Duke University Aug. 13-18. The MYF has been quite active recently.
