Johnson, chairman of St. Catherine's Chapter of St. Andrew's Episcopal Auxiliary, pre sided at the auxiliary meeting Tuesday night and announced that Mrs. Theodore Phillips will give ,! an organ concert to benefit the jj chapter. |{ The concert will be given in the sanctuary of St. Andrew's Church, Sunday, Jan. 27, at 4 p.m. A sil ver offering will be taken and the proceeds will go to the chapter. The chapter discussed filling a box for Hungarian Relief with items from the Thrift Shop and donations from interested persons. ;? Baptist Churches Observe WMS Focus Week This week throughout the Sou thern Baptist Convention, churches have been observing Woman's Missionary Society Focus Week. Focus Week is a time for activity, attraction and attention: activity in some phase of the missionary program, attempting to attract new members to the missionary organisation, and gaining the at tention of the church. On Sunday, the evening services will bring the Focus Week to a close with a special service at which time all WMS members 1 will sit together. After the ser vice all women of the church, and their families, arc invited to go to the educational building for a short social gathering. Loutit announced to the Garden and Civic Department Wodneaday afternoon plana lor an international tea to be sponsored by the department Feb. 2. The tea will be held at the civic center, where the group meets, and all foreign-born persona in the county wilt be invited. Mr?. F. C. Salisbury, president, stated that the department will request the town to maintain the grounds around the recreation building. Mrs. Salisbury also announced the committees to canvass in' the sale of centennial booklets, and defined the areas of town they will cover. The department welcomed Mrs A. R. Bible Lectures To Start Sunday The First Presbyterian and First Methodist Churches of Morehead City will be joint hosts to Dr. Frank Crossley Morgan next week. Dr. Morgan will conduct services at the First Methodist Church at 31 a.m. Sunday, at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. He will be at the First Presby terian Church at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, and at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. Dr. Morgan is the son of the world-famous English Bible lec turer, Dr. G. Campbell Morgan. All services except the Sunday morning services are union meet ings. A. G. Harris Jr., pas tor of the First Presbyterian Church, Morehead City, at 11 a.m. Sunday. Sunday School will begin at 9 45 a.m. There will be a Youth Fel lowship meeting and at 7:30 Dr. F Crossley Morgan, lecturer, will speak. The meeting will take place in the fellowship hall. The members of the Presbyter ian Church held a congregational meeting at the Camp Glenn School lunchroom Tuesday night. They heard reports on progress of the church program. Past President Presides At Doctors' Meeting Dr. W. M. Brady presided at the County Medical Society meeting Monday night at the hospital in Morehead City. President John Way was out of town, and since Dr Brady was last year's presi dent, he took charge of a short business meeting. Dr. John W. Morris was named program chairman for 1957. The only ther business brought up was a brief financial report con cerning two radios purchased by the doctors for the nurses.
