Undoubtedly the biggest Christ mas party in the county is the party given by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Block, who live on the Crab Point Road just outside the city limits of Morehead. Attending the party this year, on Saturday night, Dec. 21. were 535 adults and children. The Blocks gave each one a Christmas treat? a bag with an orange. Candy, tan gerine, apple, pecans, raisins and chewing gum. Mr. Block invites everybody. His Christmas parties have been big events for the past five years. They started, he said, after his son was very sick some years ago with pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Woodland of Morehead City played Santa Claus for the boy and Mr. Block decided then that if he ever had the means to do it, he would do something for someone else at Christmas time. At this year's party there was singing led by A1 McElmon of Morehead City, numbers by the Persuading Five, a choral quintet, songs by the choir of the Crab Point Free Will Baptist Church, and prayer by the Rev.
