The grand Jury returned ? true bill in the caae of Maylan Evans Mattiagly, charged with shooting her husband. The caae haa been continued. Margaret P. Vadese. charged with registering at a motel far Immoral purposes, pleaded guilty to (alse registration at a motel and was fined $26 and costs. The state decided not to prose cute one assault charge against Pierson Willis. On another. WUlia paid costs. Arthur Days was found not guilty of cheating and fraud. On the jury were Willis Kirk, Harry Salter, Roland D. Lupton, Jerome Ful cher, Plymouth Willis, William Fox, Asa Gray Danielson, John Danielson and Carol Arthur. Milton Thomas Pratt, charged with hit and run, was found not guilty. On the jury were Lionel Smith, Francis Kirk, J. R. Ball, Robert F. Butler, Plymouth Willis, John Danielson, S. E Dosier, Roosevelt Dixon, A. R. Danielson, Harry Salter, Bra^y Lewis, and | Robert McLean. j Because the violations of no op i erator's license and transporting non-taxpaid whiskey were consid ered in a federal court case against him, Willie Moore Hark ley was not prosecuted, llarkley, according to court records, has just returned from 12 months on the roads, a sentence imposed by a federal court. The action was dismissed in the case of Judy G. Gillikin by her next friend, Ray Pearl Gillikin vs. Berkley R. Gillikin. The defendant was ordered to pay the ^aintiffs attorney's fee and costs. Robert D. Dudley pleaded guilty to driving after his license was revoked and resisting arrest. He was sentenced to 60 days on the first offense and given a SO-day suspended sentence on the second, provided be does not drive a car in this state before Oct. 5, 1982. Hoyt Lee pleaded guilty to dis turbing the peace. He was given a 10-day sentence, suspended on payment of costs before the next term of court. Members of the jury who could reach no decision in the case of John Alden Baker, charged with drunken driving, were Leslie Pi ner, Stanley B. Golden, G. J. White, Roosevelt Dixon, W. I. Lof tin Jr., Jewell A. Smith, Charlea Merrill, George Herbert, W. H. Forbes, S. E. Dozier, Norwood Paul and WUlis Kirk. The judge declared a mistrial. Tbe state chose not to prosecute the following: Ennis T. Bass, charged with driving drunk (court records state that he has been committed to a state hospital), La Clair Ewell Newsome, failing to yield the righ-of-way, and Delmas Guthrie, non-support. Other cases continued are as follows: Carl Locklear, Ellis T. Boone, Barbara Jones, M. A. Ed wards, William Henry Jones, Tho mas Beaver and William Jackson Carter.
