Fulcher has returned from a visit with relatives in Wash ington and Pantego. Mr. Bill Fulcher has gone to Lockport, N. Y., to spend three weeks with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Crump Fulcher, Greenville, arrived Wednesday to spend the holidays with his mother, Mrs. W. L. Fulcher. Swansboro Garden Club Holds Recent Meeting The Seaspray Garden Club of Swansboro met at the American Legion building recently. Mrs. Louift Passingham. president, wel comed Mrs. Georgia Dennis as a new member and Mrs. M. J. Lou tit, Mrs. F. C. Salisbury of More head City and Mrs. Aline Dameron of Swansboro as guests. Mrs. Charlotte Fielda rt ported that the home products party spon sored by the club was a success. Mrs. Pauline Withey reported that on "work day" seven members worked a total of seventeen hours and planted nine hundred crocus bulbs at the community building. Chairman of exhibitions and flower shows, Mrs. Mary Chad wick, read the rules of the Christ mas outdoor decorations contest. The club voted to award $5 as first prize, $3 as second and $2 as third. The garden therapy chairman reported that a dried arrangement was placed in the Naval Hospital for thanksgiving. Mrs. Mina Gib son read a thank-you note from the hospital. Mrs. Withey, Mrs. Marie Brit* and Mrs. Passingham will serve as judges for the Maysville out door decorations contest, at the requost of the Maysville Garden Club. Mrs. Brit* introduced the speak er, Mrs. F. C. Salisbury a I Mare head City, who spoke on Trees and Planta in the Bible. Mrs. Salisbury discussed the fig tree, the cypress tree, the olive tree, the judas tree and the bal sam and told of their relation to events in the Bible. She also told about different plants and said that myrrh and frankincense, gifts of the wisemen to the Christ child, are mad* from a ruin gum. Hostesses for the meeting were Mrs. Shorty Walston, Mrs. Mar garet Williams and Mrs. Gladya Hlnton. Refreshments of Christ mas tree fruitcake and hot cran berry punch were served Mrs. Loutit and Mrs. Salisbury judged the Christmas arrange ments and awarded ribbons as fol lows: blue, Mrs. Williams, Mrs. Gibaon, Mra. Loutit, Mrs. Salisbury and Gerald Miller of Newport Weds Miss Fay Penninaton in Florida Miss Margaret Fay Pennington of Jacksonville, Fla., became the bride of Gerald Matthew Miller of Newport In a double ring cere mony Saturday evening at six o'clock in Normandy Baptist Tem ple, Jacksonville, Fla. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wilson N. Pennington Sr. of Jacksonville and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ken L. Miller of route one, Newport. The Rev. W. A. McMillan offi ciated at the candlelight ceremony. The vows were spoken before an altar banked with baskets of white gladiolas, palms and greenery. Mrs. Sue Smith, organist, and Wilson Pennington Jr., brother of the bride, soloist, presented a pro gram of nuptial music prior to the ceremony. Mr. Pennington sang Because, Always and Bless This House. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of while chantilly lace over net and taffeta. The sweetheart neckline was outlined with irides cent sequins and pearls and the fitted bodice was attached to a bouffant skirt. She wore a crown of lace and seed pearls, to which was attached a fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of tube roses centered with a white orchid. Miss Glenda Faye Miller of. New port, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Miss Carol Hall and Miss Carol Ann Black were bridesmaids. The attendants wore identical ballerina length lace over taffeta gowns in aqua, shrimp and light green. The gowns were designed with full circular skirts and bod ices featuring scoop necklines edged in satin with matching cum merbunds. They wore headbands of match ing colors with nose veils em broidered in pearls and carried bouquets of bronze mums. Miss Diane Salmon was flower girl. She wore a gown of yellow lace and net over taffeta and car ried a basket of rose petals. George Smith served the bride groom as best man. Ushers were Gene Moore and Raymond Ser rells. Master Wayne Meadows was ring bearer. He carried a white latin and lace pillow on which were placed the rings. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Pennington wore a teal blue crepe dress with matching hat and black accessories. She wore a corsage of white orchids.
