MRS. LIZZIE CRABTREE
Mrs. Lizzie Crabtree. mother of
Mrs. AUtn O'Bryan, died Monday
night in Greensboro Funeral a*rv
ices were conducted Wednesday at
Firat Presbyterian Church, Greens
boro. by Dr. John A. Redhead Jr.,
pastor, and the Rev. John Chifton,
paator of Holy Trinity Episcopal
Church.
Burial will be in Green Hill
Cemetery.

Daniel Willis, 64. of Beaufort died
?t his home Wednesday afternoon.
A native of Carteret County, he
was a retired Coast Guard chief
and a member of the Masonic
Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Min
nie O'Neal Willis; two sons, Dan
ny, a student at the University of
North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and
Martin, stationed at the Coast
Guard Academy in Groton, Conn.;
four daughters, Mrs. Edna Earl
Goodman of Raleigh. Mra. Eliza
beth Dolyak of Storrs, Conn., Mrs.
Lorraine Gilbert of Cincinnati,
Ohio, and Mrs. Wallace Garner of
Beaufort; two sisters, Mrs. Guy
Brooks of Beaufort and Mrs. Ver
ona Robinson of Atlantic, and ten
grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were in
complete at press time yesterday
pending arrival of the children.

Funeral services for Ezra L.
White, 64, of Beaufort, who drown
ed in Newport River Dec. 5, were
conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday
in First Baptist Church, Beaufort.
The Rev. Alec Thompson, pastor,
officiated. Burial was in Bayvicw
Cemetery, Morehead City.
Due to an error by the funeral
home, the date of the funeral in
Tuesday's paper, was incorrect.
Surviving are five sons. C. S.
and Morgan R. of Beaufort route
1, Virgil Leroy of Beaufort. Eric
Gray of Las Vegas, Nev., and Bob
by C. of Cameron, Calif.; three
daughters, Reta Ann of the home,
Mrs. Florence Fulcher of Moss
Point, Miss., and Mrs. Dorothy
Sadler of Beaufort route I, and one
brother, W. C. White of Murfrees
boro, Tenn.

their 65-41 rout of the same team
Saturday night on the Bear court.
It was the 30th consecutive win
for the Seadogs of coach Tom Mc
Quaid over a period of the last two
seasons.

raced to a 10-point lead of 21-11 at
the end of the first quarter. They
held the same advantage at half

Alexander Murdoch, a native of
Wildwood, died in Norfolk, Va.,
early this week. Graveside serv
ices were conducted at 2 p.m. yes
terday at Wildwood cemetery. The
Rev. Alvis Daniel, pastor of Wild
wood Presbyterian Church, officiat
ed.
Arrangements were handled
through a Norfolk funeral home
and no survivors were available
from the local directors.
RALPH H. PATTERSON
Ralph H. Patterson, 66, of Port
land, Me., died Tuesday night at
the home of his brother-in-law,
Harley Davis of Morehead City.
Mr. Patterson and his wife had
been visiting here about three
weeks. They were considering set
tling here and opening a business.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nora
Futrell Patterson; on* adopted son,
James Patterson of Portland; three
sisters, Miss Viola Patterson, Mrs.
Lillian Gambsy. and Mrs. Nella
Laugherty, all of Portland, and two
brothers, Warren of Portland and
Perlie of ftarre, Vt.
The body was shipped to Port
land yesterday. Funeral services
will be conducted from Haye-Pea
body funeral chapel there, but time
of the service was not known by

In the feature game the Pirates
managed to bang pretty close to the
Hurricanes but a last half spurt by
the Pamlico pack in which they

ly out of reach.
At the end of the first quarter
the Firates were trailing their con
ference foes by only two points at
10-8. Halftime found this lead
mounted to seven points as the
Hurricanes posted a 21-14 lead on
the scoreboard.
In the final half Pamlico put the
game on ice by hitting 11 point!

Cathryn Willis had five. Annis Wil
lis saw action in the frout court but
failed to score.
