Dr. and Mrs. Theodore Salter attended the Atlantic Coast Con ference basketball tournament at Raleigh over the weekend. Miss Beverly Willis has returned to Morganton, where she attends school, after spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. El mer Willis of Williston. Tommy Jones, u student at North Carolina State Coll ge in Raleigh, spent the weekend at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jones. Mrs. Jerry Darling left Sunday for Whiteville, where she is visit ing Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gillikin. Mrs. Gillikin underwent an emer gency appendectomy last Wednes day at the Whiteville hospital. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Franklin Memorial Methodist Church by the Rev. Samuel S. ; Moore, pastor. Interment was in j Bayview cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Ann Arthur Willis; a son, Ernest Edward Willis; two daugh ters, Mrs. Charles Howe and Mrs. Leinster Lewis; two brothers, Roma Willis and George Willis, all of Morehead City, and two grand- 1 children. Survivors other than the parents were not known by the funeral directors. MRS. CLEVELAND DANIELS Mrs. Cleveland Daniels of Cedar Island died at her home Saturday evening. The Lifeliners of the Pentecostal Holiness Church conducted a pa triotic service at the church Satur day night 7:30 p.m. A nice group attended and enjoyed the program very much. Several prizes were awarded the smaller children. The prizes were boxes of lolly pops. The program was directed by Mrs. Mary Hancock and Mrs. Evelyn Lawrence. Everyone is happy to know that Master Luther Daniel Yeomans Jr has been discharged from the James Walker hospital, Wilming ton, and is much better. Mr. Luther Yeomans Sr. is re ceiving treatment at the S*?a Level Community Hospital. We all hope he soon recovers. Everyone wishes Mrs. Carrie Yeomans, Mr. Joe Whitley, Mrs. Annie Smith, Mr. Walter Davis and Mrs. Maggie Rose a speedy recovery from their illness.
