The teachers met Wed nesday at Chocowiuity and were welcomed by W. S. Veasey, super intendent of Beaufort county schools. Mrs. David Beveridge, home eco nomics instructor at Beaufort school, was elected publicity chair man for Carteret. Tfce group evaluated the recent home economics conference at Woman's college and offered Bug gestions for next year's confer ence. The meeting ended with lunch eon. Attending besides Miss Couch and Mrs. Beveridge, were Miss Harriet Tetteroe, Mocksvilie, who will teach home economics this year at Atlantic, also Mrs. Mabel L. Hall, district supervisor. Six teen teachers attended. Harvey Smith's Home, New Jersey, Burglarized The Harvey W. Smith home, At lantic Highlands, N. J., was bur glarized over the weekend. Mrs. Smith, who has been in Beaufort this summer, left yesterday for At lantic Highlands She said she knew little about the burglary except that all her silver, china and other valuables had been stolen. Safes were broken open and emptied. It is the opinion of officers that file looting was the work of pro fessional burglars. Sykes said Walter Howell, route 1 Morehead City, was headed north on the crossover between highway I 70 and 70A near the Blue Ribbon.
