Friends of Mrs. Bob Pin son of Madison, Ga. for merly Effie Taylor of Cane River, will regret to learn that her husband is serious ly ill in an Atlanta hospi tal. ‘ * THE YANCEY RECORD PRESBYTERIAN NEWS “The Knowledge of Good and Evil” will be the topic for the sermon at the elev en o’clock worship service this Sunday in the Burns ville Presbyterian church. The background for this sermon is found in the par able of the tares as related in the Gospel according to Matthew. The text is: “Let both grow together until the hardest; and in the . time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” Matthew 13:30. Mr. Alan Gordon Gripe will preach this sermon, and all who are;-interested are cordially invited to attend the morn ing worship. The public is also wel come to attend the regular Sunday School session at ten o’clock the same morn ing. At 2 p. m, a preaching service will be held at the Upper Jacks Creek Presby terian church to which all are invited to come. At 3:30 p. m., on Sunday, a Decoration service will be held at the Hensley ceme tery near the ~Low Gap Presbyterian church. Mr. Gripe will also preach the setmon at this service. CORRECTION The announcement of the Baptist associational meet ing stated that it would be held on September 3 and 4. This should have been Aug ust 27 and 28. NOW AT DAYTON, OHIO Wallace B. Edge, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Edge of Burnsville, has completed a course in radio engineer ing at Weslyrin University in Buchanon, W. Va. This was in preparation for work at Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio to which he was assigned some weeks ago. He is now in Dayton and has assumed his duties there. Mr. and Mrs. Royce E.
