Andrew William Jones of Midland, Texas and Ashe ville, son' of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Jones, Jr. of Midland. The marriage was solem nized in a ceremony Febru ary 26, at Calvary Baptist church. The Rev. J. B. • Grice, pastor officiated. The church was decorat ed with arrangements of palms, ferns, white gladia ' la and lighted tapers. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. C. I. Poor, organist, and Miss Sarah Wilson, soloist. Numbers prior to ,t h e ceremony included Schuberts Serenade and “0, i Promise Me.” —The traditional —wedding , marches were played as the processional and recession al, and during the cere mony Mrs. Poor played “Old Veinnese Refrain.” The ceremony was attend ed by a small group of re latives and friends. ; The bride wore a light blue suit with black acces sories and a corsage of gardenias. PENSACOLA NOTES Arlan Silver who has been stationed in Texas the past few months is spend ing a few days furlough with his father, C. W. Sil , ver and other relatives here. These words contain a promise made in the distant | yesterday. When we look at them for a moment we realize how timely they are. We, too, have made pro mises similar to this one. We should be loyal to the 8 great and noble cause of our God. Loyalty is causing a great many of our young men to die upon the battle fields. They are defending our right to worship as we please. The Women’s Missionary i Society of the Burnsville church will hold its month ly meeting on next Wed nesday at 8 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Kate Ray and Mrs. Lena Tilson. Miss Ruby Robinson is the lead er. A Children’s and Young People’s meeting will b e held next Wednesday at 3:30 at the Mine Fork church, and on Thursday at the Lower Jacks Creek church. METHODIST CHURCH Church school at ten a. m. Morning worship at el even a. m. “Being Able to Stand” will be the subject of the sermon. Welcome to all. There will be no Choir practice Friday night due to the reading contest at the school building. The Pensacola Dramatic Club met Saturday night, March 4. Dazzy Vance Riddle and the sponsor do nated books to the library. During the social hour games were played.
