Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have! three other sons in service. Zack is with the Paratroop division in the South Paci fic, Herman is now in Fran ce, and Ottis was inducted on Sept. 20. Pfc. Glen C. Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ray of Burnsville was slightly wounded in France on Sept. 11 his parents have been in formed by the war depart ment. - Ensign Shelby Robertson has been placed on inactive duty with the Navy, and is now visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Robert son of Bald Creek. Ensign Robertson took his basic training at the j Pensacola air station where! he was assigned to person nel work. He then attend ed the naval training school at Harvard University and was assigned to the amphi bious forces with the Atlan fic fleet. He was physi cally disqualified for this service, and later placed on inactive duty list Pfc. Lloyd Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Peter son of Day Book, is now at Moore General hospital, Swannanoa. He had been on overseas duty for sever al months before receiving wounds in action near Rome. Sgt. Kenneth Robertson has been home on a short leave from the Marine Base, Parris Island, S. C. Pvt. His father, Mr. Molt j Bailey, resides at English, IN. 1 N. C. i Since he flew his first I combat mission last April, Sgt. Bailey has participated in Aeiral attacks on every j country in Southern Europe; from Germany to the Bal- I kans, blasting enemy Rail ; yards, airfields, and Air craft factories. He went four times to the recently captured Ploesti Oil Refin eries, which at one time was the most heavily de fended target on the 15th Air Force Roster. Perhaps his most diffi cult mission was on May 29, to an ‘Aircraft Plant in Aus- 1 j tria. Bailey has seen a number of famous sights in Italy, including the Isle of Capri, Vesuvius, St. Peter's Cathedral and the Cata combs in Rome. He holds the Airmedal with 3 clusters.
