Hen sley of Swiss, is attending Western Carolina Teachers College, Cullowhee. Iris Clark is attending E. C. T. C., Greenville, N. C. GOUGE-ROBINSON Miss Lurille Gouge and Sgt . Raymond Robinson were married in Greenville, S. C. on Sunday, October 1. Mrs. Robinson is the daugh ter of Mrs. Beulah Gouge of Burnsville, Rt. 2. Sgt. Robinson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. 0. M. Robin son of Celo, recently return ed to the states after 13 months with the army for ces in the South Pacific ar ea. He was wounded in ac tion and is now with a de tachment of patients at the army—navy hospital, Hot Springs, Ark. NEW F. S. A. HOME MANAGEMENT SUP ERVISOR Miss Agnes Anders of . Barnardsville has taken up her duties as h6me manage ment supervisor for Yancey and Mitchell counties. This place was left vacant when Miss Martha Plonk joined the WAVEs. Miss' Anders graduated , at Berea College in March of this year and has been employed at Oak Ridge, Tenn. Miss Mildred Sed berry of Avery county is spending two weeks in the local office to aid in getting the program outlined for the remainder of the year. W. B. Oliver, district sup ervisor, and Miss Margaret Fuller, associate supervisor were in the Burnsville offi ce Tuesday. 4-H DRESS REVUE First place in the 4-H Dress Revue went to Eve lyn Silver of the Micaville club. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Sil ver and is a Senior in the Micaville high school this year. A woolen sport suit and silk blpuse that she made and modeled won for her this honor and a prize of $5.00. Wanda Sams, daughter of Mrs. Lela Sams and a member of the Bald Creek Club won second place and a prize of $3.00. She model ed a street dress of light weight wool. Other entrants in the Re vue were Faye Ellen Edw ards and Mary Helen Neill of the Bald Creek Club and Erma Letterman of the Clearmont Club. These girls will go to the Western District show Fri day, Oct. 6 in Asheville. Evelyn Silvers will repre sent the county in this dis trict contest. This is jhe first year that the dress Revue has been held in the county, and prizes were donated by bus iness firms of the town. THE YANCEY RECORD BALD CREEK SENIORS WILL HAVS SALE The Senior class of Bald Creek high school will spon sor a used woolen goods sale all day Friday and Sat urday, October 6th and 7th. The sale will-be held in the building across from the Bald Creek post office. Dresses, skirts, coats and : other articles will be on sale. GARDEN CLUB The Garden Club met with Mrs. V .J. Goodman on Thursday with the presi dent, Mrs. Troy Ray presid ing. Mrs. J. P. Lyon, assisted by Mrs. Fouts, Mrs. Berry man and Mre. Goodman gave an instructive prq ' gram on the use of shrubs , in home landscaping. A recognition contest of different specimense was , held. " Mrs. Fred Proffitt was made program leader for the fall and early winter months. Mrs. Barber was a wel come guest of the club.
