C. Smith CELEBRATE FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVER SARY Mr. and Mrs. Zeb P. King of Burnsville celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding An niversary on Wednesday, Dec. 20th at their home , near Burnsville. A number of friends called or sent congratulations and best wishes on the occasion. Mr. King and Mrs. King; who was Miss Hattie B. Edwards, were married -at i Elk Shoal on Dec. 20, 1894. > They have always lived in Yancey county, and for the n ast 2.5 years, have made their home in Burnsville. I Mr. King is now 72 years old and Mrs. King is 69. Both are in very excellent health. There are seven children in the family, and a num ber of grandchildren. The children are Clifford of Buffalo, N Y, Clarence of Shelby, N. C., Eugene of Hendersonville, Miss Celia King and Mrs. Ralph Peter | son of Burnsville, Sgt. Bruce King with the U. S Army in France and Sgt Roy King with the medical corps, also overseas. Travis L. Robinson, son of Mr. arid Mrs. W. C. Robinson of We9t Asheville, was solemnized in a candle light ceremony Wednesday evening* December 6, at 6 o’clock at Calvary Baptist church, Asheville. The Rev. J. B. Grice, pas-j tor, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. \ the bride wore a powder , blue dress with powder blue, and black accessories. Heri corsage was of lilies. Mrs. Robinson was grad uated from Lee H. Edwards high school, Mars Hill col lege and Ashevills college, and for the past three years, has been employed as a teacher at Micavi’le. Sgt. Robinson is a grad uate of Lee H. Edwards high school and has return ed home after completing 51 combat missions in the European theater of war. He holds the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is now stationed at Keesler Field, Miss. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Joe McCracken a son, Billie Ray, on Dec. 16. LETTERS FROM MEN IN SERVICE Record: I have been re ceiving the paper for a per iod of time and enjoy read ing it very much as it helps to inform me of what is going on in my home town.
