Predicting that total pulpwood receipts might drop 500,000 cords below the receipts obtained in 1945, industry spokesmen stated “these predicticms would become a certainty unless the volume of woods workers is increased con siderably.” With the peeling season approaching, mills in this ai ea will soon require peel ed top quality pulpwood. Peeled wood pays higher pi-ices.
