The bride was dressed in an ensemble of forest green with black accessories, and she wore a corsage of Talis man roses; Mrs. Swann wore a suit of gray gabardine and her corsage was of red roses/ Mrs. Pate is a member of the Senior class of Bald Creek high school. Mr. Pate attended ' v Bald Creek high school. He re cently received his disch arge from the Navy after serving sixteen mopths. The couple will reside in Asheville after Mrs.. Patel graduates in the spring. j WOMANS CLUB The Burnsville Woman’s club held its December, meeting at the home of 1 Mrs. C. P. Randolph with | Mrs. Jay Edge, Mrs. Her shel Holcombe, and Mrs. I Mark Bennett as associate hostesses. During the business ses sion reports from standing committtees were given. Mrs. D. R. Fouts gave a re port on “State Parks” tak en from the December issue of the clubwoman’s maga zine. Each member of the club donated food and clothing for the needy to be distri buted by the welfare com ! mittee. Plan for obtaining a pro jector to show a film on “America the Beautiful” were made and then the president passed out to the members pamplets on, “Buying War Bonds”. Mrs. James Ray, program leader, gave a very interest ing and impressive program on “Christmas”. Mrs. L. G. Deyton gave the. scripture reading from Luke. Mrs. D. R. Fouts gave a talk on “Lights on Christ mas” which was followed by Mrs. J. S. LeFevre who discussed “Flowers at Chri-. stmas.” Mrs. G. L.
