Mr. and Mrs. Frank English of Flint, Mich,, have also been visit ing Mrs. English. They have gone to Boone with the Graggs for a few days but will return here before leaving for Flint. Lois Moody and Maglee Ray left Wednesday for Boone where they will at tend summer school. — Mrs. Henry Hensley o f Johnson City was the guest of her sister, Mrs. M. E. Riddle, during the week end. Bill Robinson of North Wilkesboro who was in the Northwestern Bank here' for several months has been' transferred to the North J western Bank in Spruce Pine. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Bag gett have left for a visit with relatives in Dunn, N. C. Dr. and Mrs. Boyd Burk hart and children and Dr. Burkhart’s mother, all of, ■lndianapolis, were guests of; Dr. and Mrs. Gus Laughrun last week. Mrs. W. C. Mrs. C. .H. Burton was . program leader. An article was read, with a discussion following, on the care of roses and dah lias. Suggestions were made on how to make cut flowei s last longer. Mrs. W. L. Bennett and Mrs. Fred Proffitt gave brief talks on some of the things that interested them most at the flower show they attended recently in Asheville. The next meeting will be held on June 25 with Mrs. George Robinson and Mrs. W. H. Holleman as hostess. Mrs. Fred Proffitt will be program leader. It is hoped that more members will at tend this meeting. Scotty and Elizabeth Moore of Granite Quarry are visiting their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Mclntosh.
