ALLEN-REDMON A host of friends gather ed at the First Baptist church in Martinez, Cal., on the evening of September 7 as Rev. Wm. D. Hurst read wedding vows to Miss Thelma Allen and Charles J. Redmon. T. 0. Edwards, Manager! Jof Associated Oil Company I escorted the bride down the center aisle to a trellis and !altar decorated in ' ivy, white wedding bells and white stock. Two candela-! bra and baskets of white gladiolus stood on either side of the altar. The bride was attired in a gown of white satin fashioned with a fitting bodice, sweetheart neckline and full skirt end ing in a long train. Her veil of white illusion veiling fell loosely from a crown of white blossoms. She carried a prayer book with a white orchid encircled with baby orchids and split carnations. The bride’s one attendant Mrs. Clarence F. Hjort of Fresno, Cal., wore a gown of aqua brocade with a cir cle neckline of white lace. She carried a bouquet of mixed roses. Carl W. Siegert of the San Francisco Municipal Chorous sang Schubert’s “Ave Maria” and the “Lord’s Prayer” accompan ied by Mrs. Jimmie Davis of Martinez. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Davis play ed “Clara DeLune”, “ I Love You Truly” and “Songs of the Angels”. The traditional wedding march and recessional were used. Mrs. Redmon is the dau ghter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Allen of Burnsville, N. C. and received her educa tion at Burnsville High School and for the past year has been employed by Tide Water Associated Oil ■ Co., in Martinez. She is a mem ber of the First Baptist church in Martinez and holds the Ritual of Jewels! Degree in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Richmond Cal. Mr. Redmon is the son of Mrs. Ella Redmon of San Francisco and is employed by Philippine Air Lines. Formerly a resident of Marshall, N. C. Mr. Redmon received his education in Marshall and later in scho ols in San Francisco. He was with the Army Transport Command for three years. Immediately following the reception the couple left by plane for a two weeks honeymoon at the Moana Hotel on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. They will make their home at 1004 Margery Lane in Concord, Cal. < Celebrates Birthday Mrs. E. G. Adkins gave a birthday party. Saturday, Oct. 2nd, honoring her dau ghter, Mary Louise, who celebrated her thirteenth birthday. The afternoon was spent playing games.
