Jerry Holcombe has been ill this week but is improv ing. The Rev. F. R. Barber has been ill of flu for the past week. Mrs. Albert Powell and son of Statesville are visit ing Mrs. Delzie Styles who has been sick. Grover Huskins celebra ted his 06th oirthday Sun day and a family dinner was held at the home. Mrs. Cornelia Nicholson who has been ill for sever al weeks is now at the rest home at Celo for treatment Mrs. James Ray and son Garry have been ill of flu for the past week. PROFFITT-BATES The marriage of Mrs. Mildred Hoyle Bates and Fleet York Proffitt was solemnized Sunday after noon in the First Baptist Church of Asheville in the presence of relatives and close friends. The bride is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Harley Hoyle of 15 White Fawn Drive, and Mr. Prof fitt is the son of -Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Proffitt of Bald Creek. The Rev. M. W.
