THURSDAY, JUNE 29,1950 HEALTH DEPARTMENT Fifty patients were seen at the orthopedic clinic in Spruce Pine on June 21, the largest number to attend one of these clinics to date. This is the third consecu tive month in which a new attendance record has Ibeen set. The clinics are held in the town hall the third Wednesday morning o f each month, by Dr. James H. Cherry of Asheville, and are open to all resid ents of this area. Dr. C. F. Mcßae, district health officer, attended the third Annual Rural Health Conference which was held recently in Raleigh. Lewis and Glenn Fox. Children Will Be Featured On The Screen The Yancey Theatre is planning to give parents of children 1 month to 6 years a chance to see their children on the screen. The Theatre has arrang ed to bring a well known children’s photographer to Burnsville. All photogra phs taken will be shown on the screen and at this show ing the judges will choose the winners. There is no cost or obli gation for entering the contest. Entry blanks are available at the theatre and definite plans and dates will be given later. TOLEDO NEWS Corinne Gornto, Betty McKinney and Sammy Gornto attended the Pion eer Camp at Lees McCrae, Banner Elk, they enjoyed the week and returned home Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Earnhart and two sons of Charlotte were guests of Mrs. Earnhart’s brother, Mr. Fred Bailey and his family.
