Dillingham, county ag ent, announced this week. The morning session will be held at 10 a. m. in the Yancey Theatre. Speakers will include A. C. Edwards, member of the State Leg islature and president of the North Carolina Farm Bureau; L. Y. Ballentine, Commissioner of Agricul ture and former Lieuten ant Governor, and a lead ing dairy farmer in Wake County; Dr. Dean Colvard, head of animal industry at North Carolina State Col lege, and Dr. C. B. Ratch fcrd of the Farm Manage ment Department of State College. Fisher, USA & USAF recruiting Sgt. for Burnsville. New regulations recent ly released by the depart ment of the Army have opened more than 20 army schools to qualified high school graduates now en listing in the regular army. Under the new plan, Sgt. Fisher explained, men ac cepted for attendance at prescribed army schools may select the type of tra ining they desire. Among courses available to gradu ates under this program are automotive body re pair, electricity, tailoring, electric and acetyline weld ing, railway bridge con struction and repair, power equipment maintenance, ship fitting and hospital technician procedure.
