Creative writing courses will be handled by Lettie Hamlet Rodgers, author of the recent novel, “South of Heaven,” and W. C. Jack son, retiring chancellor of the Woman’s College, will head the department of education. Fred Koch Jr., son of the founder of the Carolina Playmakers and himself famous as the founder of the University of Miami theaters, will be on hand as guest director for the production of Casey’s ori ginal comedy. “The Clear glass Door”. Barbara Simmons and < Margaret Wilson who at tended Girls’ Statei i n Greensboro reported on the numerous classes and acti vities, and their visit to places of interest. Tommy Tilson gave a report for the 10 boys wrt) attended Boys’ State at the University. Wolff, Asheville, will be of fice manager. The education depart ment staff will include: Dr. Franklin McNutt, associate dean of the Graduate School, Woman’s College; Mrs. Mary Hunter, Miss ■Ruth Gunter, and Miss Jessie Peden, all members of the college faculty. Duane Kline of the Wom an’s College music depart ment will return to help with the music courses, and Mrs. W. E. Braswell, Art Supervisor of Greensboro City Schools will teach the course in painting. Season ticket books, cov ering all seven productions of the Playhouse and Scho ol are available by mail or der from the Playhouse HEALTH DEPARTMEN' The Health Department will hold immunization clinics in the Bee Log area every Monday during July. The championship Mars Hill Square Dance team drew round after round of applause with a sparkling exhibition of folk dancing. Miss Loretta Hensley of Ramseytown, read her pri ze winning essay to the as sembled members and re ceived the $25.00 first prize offered in the co-op contest. Other winners were Barba ra Proffitt, Aileen Jones, Inez Pate and Charles Buchanan.
