Tuesday, July 25 Members of the Legion Post and the Auxiliary will meet in the Legion Build ing at 7 o’clock. The Boy Scout Troop will meet at the Legion Building at 7:30. Mrs. Myrtle Bailey and Claudette Brenda Lee Peterson are visiting in Erwin. Mrs. Norris Hoyle of Newton is here to visit her mother, Mrs. George W. Anglin, for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wray of Sanford, Fla. plan to come up next week for a visit with relatives and friends. Mrs. Zeb Fox has been very ill at her home at Bolens Creek for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Rob erts and children are visit ing relatives in Hillsboro this week. Mrs. Yates Bennett was a guest of Mrs. Bertha Pal mer at Lake Junaluska Saturday and Sunday. Harmon Edwards of Cane : River, was married to Blaine Banks, son of Mr. ! and Mrs. Ed Banks of Bar nardsville on June 24th at 1 Greenville, S. C. Mrs. Banks is a graduate of Bald Creek High School. Mr. Banks served with the U. S. Navy in World War 11. They will make their home in Barnardsville, N. Mrs. Huskins before her marriage was Miss Mary Peterson of the Jacks Creek community of Yan cey County. They are the parents of seven chillren; three sons. Frank of Raleigh, J. P. of Statesville and Charles of Lenoir; four daughters, Mrs. Edgar M. Cranford and Mrs. R. V. Caldwell of Concord, Mrs. K. A. Mel char of Fresno, Calif., and Mrs. R. F. Andrews of Brevard.
