AROUND THE DISTRICT by George Vitas Having spent a lot of time in the woods we figur ed that we knew quite a bit about camping and wood craft. But the other day, a group of Girl Scouts at the U. S. Forest Service-Opti mist Club Youth Organiza tion Camp on the South Toe River taught us a thing or two. Believe it or not, the girls can fry bacon and eggs in ! an ordinary paper bag ov ; era bed of hot coals with out setting fire to the bag. Not only that, but Miss Martha D. Auton, who heads up the Buncombe i County encampment, tells | us that it’s even possible to boil water in a paper bag! lAnd we thought that we were crowding Danitl Boone’B style when we suc ceeded in starting a fire-by friction in our boy scouting days.
