B. Powel] Monday night. Ap proximately 90 persons at tended the meeting. The food was prepared and served by women of the Presbyterian Church. Poweil and son of States ville visited Mrs. D. !z. Sty les and family over the week end. Miss Catherine Buckner of Knoxville, Tenn., visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Troy -Buckner during the past week. Mrs. Bertha Palmer,for mer owner of Mt. Mrs. Tappan and daugh ter will stay in Burnsville the remainder of the week. Mr. Thomas Flack left last Tuesday morning on a short vacation trip to Phil adelphia where he will visit , his children. Watson, presi ■ dent, presiding. f No formal program wa3 presented as most of the i time was given to the busi ness period. Informal dis cussion of certain phases of gardening and decora tion such as the planting and care of azaleas and the - making of Ming trees, were held. Plans ,were made for taking part in the town beautification program to be sponsored by the differ ent civic clubs. Lt. Herrick Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Peter son, visited his parents and friends in Burnsville this week.' Lt. Peterson is con nected with the Naval Corn munition Station in Char leston, S. C.
