PIG TO BE GIVEN AS PRIZE f IN CONTEST Mike and Ike, the two Grade hogs which are living in a special pen over at Deyton Farm Supply, started their three-month battle to outgain each other. They were officially weigh ed-in Aug. 27th by Oss Deyton, with Mike tipping the scales at 34 pounds, and Ike hitting the 36 pound mark. During the time they are en gaged in this battle of the century, Mike will be fed Pur ina Hog Fatena. Ike will be fed corn and shorts. Their weights will be posted regu larly for everyone to see the progress they make. I The winner of this weight gaining race will be the top prize at a “Hog Quiz Show” i which will be staged at Dey- I ton Farm Supply when the | contest closes. Mclntosh of Bur- 1 nsvillb, and Walter A. Hoyle * 1 of Spruce Pine Rt. 1, returned * 1 recently from twb weeks of ' active duty at Fort Betming, Ga., with the 81st Infantry . ! Division. The 81st Division < 7 with headquarters in Atlanta, is made up of reserve units in *1 the Carolinas and Georgia. Captain Mcßae, Sgt. Mnlntosh, 1 and Corporal Hoyle comprise the" Medical Detachment of the 316th Field Artillery Bat talion, which has batteries in Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard.
