School, visited his parents, Mr.

on his farm, is improving rapidly.

Funeral services were held Sat
' urday afternoon at 2 o’clock for
Rome Parott, who died “at his
home Thursday evening.
David Banks, son of Mr, and
Mrs; Charley Banks of Horton
Creek, was at home on /a 14-day
leave recently, after having com
pleted his eight weeks basic train
ing at Fort Jackson, S. C. His next
duty station is Fort Benning, Ga.,
where he will attend school for
eight weeks.
Zack Higgins was at home re
cently on a week-end pass from
a South Carolina Air Force Base.
He has been in the Air Force for
five years.
Ben Banks was the guest of
his good friend, Wade Austin,
last week when they toured a
Navy Base in Florida.
Mr. and Mrs. Grover Penland of
Leicester, were guests at Mrs.
Arvle Penland’s home last Sun
day afternoon. •
